Flower of the Week - Tulips

Fancy name - Tulipa! Pretty easy to remember. Tulips have been around for thousands of years. They're most well known for the crazy 1630's when Tulipomania hit and tulip bulbs were worth more than Sydney real estate! Crazy times! Things settled down and the Dutch fell in love with them - thank goodness because they are stunning! There are so many varieties now including double petals, parrot, feathered and even ice cream (I kid you not! The white one below is one).

I'm a tulip purest and love them best on their own. They're a cheeky flower that continues to grow and go crazy, usually following the light.

As always keep them out of direct sunlight and away from the direct breeze of the heater. Use a clean case and eep the water clean, snipping the stems with every water change.
